2025 Donor Impact Report
FOR THOSE THAT BUILT THIS COMMUNITY.
A message from our leaders

See your impact in action.
In 2025, the CGMH Foundation officially launched the $100+ Million campaign to build Tomorrow’s Hospital for South Georgian Bay. This once in a generation project will see a state-of-the-art hospital built on land donated by the Di Poce family at Poplar Sideroad and Ragan Street in Collingwood. Thanks to the generosity and commitment of our community, we have already raised over $75 million towards Tomorrow’s Hospital, but there is still a long way to go.
In parallel with the launch of the campaign, CGMH hired a dedicated Hospital Development Team from the funds allotted to the project that Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health announced for the hospital in December 2024. The Hospital Development project moved into the Detailed Planning stage of the capital planning framework managed by the Ministry of Health and Infrastructure Ontario. It is anticipated that construction will begin in late fall of 2028.
Things have also been changing around the current hospital. In July of 2025, the first MRI patient was scanned at CGMH. Thanks to the generosity of our community, whose donations made this vital piece of equipment possible, having the MRI means residents can now access this lifesaving Diagnostic Imaging service right here at home.
Last fall, the CGMH Foundation relocated from the hospital to make room for a new Diagnostic Imaging suite that will house a new SPECT CT machine, an important addition made possible through your donations. The Foundation team can now be found at 1 First Street, Suite 204, in Collingwood.
Your actions continually demonstrate that advancing healthcare in South Georgian Bay is important to you. Through your ongoing commitment to our mission, our hospital is better equipped to meet the evolving needs of CGMH patients. The compassion and generosity you share today make a meaningful difference for our friends, family, and neighbours today and as we plan for Tomorrow’s Hospital.
With sincere thanks for your generosity and your support of CGMH’s vision for outstanding care for life.
In gratitude,
Brad Miller, Chair of the Board of Directors, CGMH Foundation
Sandra Taylor, President & CEO, CGMH Foundation

2025 Your Impact
At CGMH, 90% of all hospital equipment & technology is funded by your donations. Thanks to your incredible generosity, 2024 marked a year of meaningful impact. Here are some examples of what was made possible with your support.

Achieving excellence in imaging, thanks to donor support.
CGMH’s new X-Ray machine provides sharper, more detailed images to support faster and more accurate diagnoses. The system includes fluoroscopy, which offers real-time imaging – particularly useful for joint and spinal injections in our orthopaedic department. This helps us better manage pain and guide treatment for conditions affecting the hips, shoulders, and lower back. Robotic features improve precision and make the equipment easier for staff to operate. We’ve also added a patient lift to support more comfortable transfers to the imaging table, especially for those with mobility issues or pain. Read more.
“Our previous system, which we used for diagnostic radiographs and to guide procedures, was really showing its age. The new system has been a game changer. It provides fast, reliable imaging that helps us deliver studies for diagnosis and treatment. Reliable tools such as this make all the difference in a busy radiology department. It’s a major step forward in delivering safe, efficient, and timely care.” says Dr. Carstensen, CGMH Radiologist.

You’re transforming the way we treat and diagnose patients with a new state-of-the-art CT scanner.
CGMH installed a new state-of-the-art CT scanner on December 18, 2024, replacing equipment that had been in use for over a decade. Thanks to donor support, the scanner offers faster imaging, higher resolution, and reduced radiation exposure—improving both the accuracy and safety of diagnostic exams. With advanced automation and faster scan times, the CT scanner supports quicker diagnoses and better care planning, especially in high-demand areas like trauma and oncology. This upgrade is part of a broader initiative to enhance our diagnostic imaging services, with future improvements including the arrival of our first MRI machine in 2025. Read more.
“Having access to more detailed information will help our healthcare team make accurate diagnoses, allowing CGMH patients to begin the right treatment journey as quickly as possible,” says Dr. Murray Miller, CGMH Chief of Radiology.

Your donations are advancing the speed of critical testing.
The new transfusion analyzer allows the CGMH lab team to now process blood bank test results in half the time – and a lot more of them. In the past it would take a single Medical Laboratory Technologist 1 hour to manually process a single sample. Now, the transfusion analyzer can process numerous samples in half the amount of time. Additionally, the automated method frees up our Laboratory Technologist’s time so they can focus on reporting other tests, greatly impacting the turnaround time for all tests, decreasing processing time and delivering information to the patient sooner. Read more.
“While many larger centres have this type of equipment, it is innovative for a smaller lab like ours to have it, and it’s a step in the direction of lab automation. This new process improves efficiency and helps improve the patient experience with reduced turnaround times.” – Sarah Hamilton, CGMH Manager, Laboratory and Quality Lead

Thanks to you, accessibility is safer and more comfortable.
Thanks to donor support, CGMH has replaced outdated transport chairs with new Staxi wheelchairs—improving safety, comfort, and accessibility for patients across the hospital. These upgraded chairs are used daily to transport elderly, injured, and orthopaedic patients to appointments and procedures.
The Staxi models offer cushioned seats, elevating leg rests, a fail-safe brake system, and a stackable design that saves space. They are easy to clean and eliminate trip hazards, and the load-balancing features reduce physical strain on staff and volunteers.
“We were running short of wheelchairs, and they’re essential to how we care for and move patients,” said Sadie Nixon, Manager of Volunteer Services. “We’re incredibly grateful to the Foundation and to donors who helped fund this much-needed upgrade.”
Matthew’s Story of Survival and Gratitude at CGMH
Wasaga Beach realtor Matthew Zuccarini was on a routine drive through Collingwood when everything changed. Without warning, he was overcome by nausea and confusion. Unable to explain where he was, he called his wife, Amanda. Her quick thinking and a phone tracking app led emergency services straight to him.
By the time Amanda got to the scene, what had seemed like a panic attack quickly escalated. Matthew’s heart rate surged to 278 beats per minute. He was rushed to CGMH, where he was met by a team of skilled healthcare professionals.
At CGMH, Matthew was placed under the care of Dr. Mike Randazzo, Chief of Internal Medicine. Recognizing the severity of the situation, Dr. Randazzo made a critical call: “I think we’re going to have to shock him.” Moments later, Matthew’s heart stopped.
What happened next felt surreal. Matthew recalls hovering above his body, watching the medical team work, and seeing his late father gently guide him back to his body. His first word after being revived was the name of a medication Amanda had struggled to remember – a moment the couple describes as “divine.”
Matthew spent two weeks in CGMH’s Intensive Care Unit. Understanding how much he missed his young son, the nursing team arranged a special visit in the hospital garden. That moment gave Matthew the strength to keep fighting. Just weeks after returning home, Amanda discovered she was expecting their second child – a daughter Matthew was able to meet, thanks to the swift and skilled response of CGMH’s medical team.

“I should not have survived,” Matthew says. “But because of CGMH, I did.” In May, the Zuccarinis invited Dr. Randazzo into their home to express their gratitude. Matthew later shared on social media, “This is the man that revived me from the brink of death… He’s my angel on earth.”
Events
Small towns, big hearts … that’s cause for celebration.
Raising a total of $232,273 here are a few highlights from our community-hosted events.

Strengthening community from the rink to the fairways
In 2024, sports enthusiasts once again rallied behind CGMH through a series of high-energy fundraising events. The Annual Foodland Bonspiel, organized by CGMH staff (and sisters) Jess Metheral and Cassie Clair, brought together local curlers and raised $5,600. At Blue Mountain, the 24 Hours at Blue event saw teams of 12 ski and snowboard around the clock, generating over $13,000 in support of the Foundation. Osler 42, a team and individual relay event, added $4,500 to the cause. Cyclists from Racer Sportif / Equipe78 completed their 10th annual ride from Toronto to Montreal—spanning more than 600 kilometres -and raised nearly $5,500. The Golf 4 Good tournament at Duntroon Highlands rallied the community on the course, contributing $14,000. And the Ski Bees ski day fundraiser brought winter fun to the slopes while raising $1,500 to support the future of CGMH.

A cause worth celebrating
We tapped our feet to the tune of generosity as our community got creative with entertaining concerts and live music. Duntroon Highlands hosted Unplugged in the Barn, a summer concert series featuring a wide variety of talented musicians, good food, and drinks. Collingwood Charters hosted a fantastic evening on Georgian Bay giving our guests a wonderful time with wonderful food, and a live performance by Aaron Garner. The tight-knit Blue Shores community hosted a lively concert featuring the Boomerang group, an eight-piece horn band that got the group on their feet, celebrating songs that inspired generations to turn down the lights and turn up the volume! The Backspin Band (featuring CGMH’s very own board member Geoff Davies) also contributed funds to support the CGMH Foundation and better healthcare for South Georgian Bay.

Family fun and a lot of heart
Our community showed up in heartfelt and powerful ways to support local health care in 2024. Links of Love, founded by Katie Pereira-Prebble, held their annual Lincoln’s Walk to honour the memory of Lincoln and all families affected by pregnancy and infant loss. With a strong turnout of families and friends, the event raised nearly $5,000 in support of CGMH. Jax Pays It Forward, hosted by the Davenport family, brought together families for a fun-filled day of giving back. After experiencing over 200 emergency visits with their daughter Jax, who lives with a heart condition called Supraventricular Tachycardia, the Davenports chose to make Collingwood their home due to the exceptional care received, and now give back through this annual event—which raised $10,500 in 2024. At the Collingwood Blues Hockey Battles Cancer event, fans helped raise an incredible $16,000 in support of CGMH’s Diagnostic Imaging Department.

Big hearts behind local businesses
From real estate to retail, local businesses stepped up in creative ways to support the future of care at CGMH. Realtor Greg Syrota and his team hosted a client appreciation event and generously donated a portion of their commissions, raising $3,500 for the CGMH Foundation. The Faris Team also gave back by donating $4,200 from their home sales. AGNORA’s much-anticipated Pre-Loved Fashion Sale drew a crowd of eager shoppers and raised over $35,000. Downtown Collingwood came alive during Collingwood Fashion Week, with boutiques including Dawe and Company, Brabary, Coriander, Cora Couture, Bishop Consignment, and Elaine Dickinson’s offering curated experiences in support of local health care, raising $12,000.

President & CEO Transition: Celebrating Jory Pritchard‑Kerr and Welcoming Sandra Taylor
The past year marked a significant moment in the history of the CGMH Foundation, as we prepared for the transition of leadership following the retirement of our long‑serving President and CEO, Jory Pritchard‑Kerr, and welcomed a new chapter under incoming CEO Sandra Taylor.
After more than 37 years of extraordinary service, Jory retired on June 30, 2025, leaving behind a legacy that has shaped the Foundation and healthcare across South Georgian Bay. As the Foundation’s first employee, Jory played a crucial role in building the organization from the ground up, guiding it with vision and determination.
Throughout her tenure, Jory’s leadership helped advance the vision of outstanding care for our community, and her influence can be seen in nearly every corner of the hospital today. Over the past decade, Jory worked alongside hospital leadership and key stakeholders to help secure government approval for a new hospital and was instrumental in the land gift that will support healthcare delivery in the region for generations to come.
Jory’s impact extended well beyond our local community. A respected leader in healthcare philanthropy, she was involved in professional associations in Canada and the United States and was the 2022 recipient of the Si Seymour Award for distinguished leadership from the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy. Her mentorship, strategic insight, and commitment to excellence have left a lasting imprint on the Foundation’s culture and its future direction.
As we celebrated Jory’s remarkable career, the Foundation Board worked diligently to ensure a thoughtful and seamless transition. Following a comprehensive national search, the Board unanimously appointed Sandra Taylor as the Foundation’s next President and CEO, with her appointment ratified in April 2025.
Sandra brings more than 25 years of experience in fundraising and communications within the nonprofit sector, including leadership experience as Executive Director of the Georgetown Hospital Foundation. With a collaborative leadership style and a strong track record in major gift fundraising and campaign work, Sandra is exceptionally well positioned to carry forward the vision and success established under Jory’s leadership.
Sandra joined the CGMH Foundation team on August 5, 2025, at a pivotal moment in our organization’s history. As plans for Tomorrow’s Hospital continue to advance, her experience, enthusiasm, and commitment to community partnership will be critical as we work together to turn this vision into a reality.
This transition reflects both continuity and renewal. We honour the incredible contributions of Jory Pritchard‑Kerr with gratitude, while confidently embracing the future under Sandra Taylor’s leadership. Together with our supporters and volunteers, the CGMH Foundation remains focused in its mission to advance healthcare in South Georgian Bay.

And those who will inherit it.

Growth in Endowment
Growth in Endowment
Established in 1993, the Dr. A.R. Stephen Endowment Fund honours the legacy of the first physician to practice at CGMH in the late 1880’s. Dr. Stephen not only cared for the people of Collingwood and area but was also a philanthropist who supported many local charities.
Today, the Fund continues his legacy by ensuring that CGMH has the resources it needs to meet current demands, while the Foundation focuses on building Tomorrow’s Hospital. Through the combination of bequest gifts and a solid investment strategy, the fund continues to exceed its goal of maintaining the Endowment Fund at $30 million.
In 2025, the Fund had a return of 7.47% (gross of fees) and made $1.25 M available for investments in equipment and technology.
As we continue our fundraising efforts to build Tomorrow’s Hospital, the Endowment Fund remains focused on supporting the needs of our community today.

tree of life

Inspired by the Next Generation
The 2025 Tree of Life Campaign marked a meaningful milestone for the CGMH Foundation. For the first time, this holiday tradition supported Tomorrow’s Hospital, raising over $1.7 million to support the future of care in South Georgian Bay.
The campaign was inspired by an show of generosity that began earlier in the year, led by some of the youngest members of our community. Children stepped forward on their own initiative, donating birthday money and hosting small fundraisers simply because they believed everyone deserves access to excellent healthcare close to home. Their generosity was a powerful reminder that Tomorrow’s Hospital matters to every generation, and that meaningful leadership can come at any age.
This spirit of giving helped shape the 2025 Tree of Life Campaign and its focus on building for the future. Early momentum was strengthened by the generosity of Mike Jackson GM, whose matching gift of up to $25,000 helped launch the campaign and encouraged others to give. From there, the community responded with overwhelming support.
The campaign is helping advance Tomorrow’s Hospital, a modern facility designed to serve a growing community.
We are so grateful to every donor who supported the 2025 Tree of Life Campaign. Inspired by the generosity of our community’s youngest supporters, your gifts are helping transform local healthcare and ensure exceptional care for generations to come.
monthly giving club

There’s strength in numbers
Building a new hospital requires the support of everyone in our community, and our Monthly Giving Club members understand this responsibility and rise to the challenge. Through their dependable monthly gifts, they are helping make Tomorrow’s Hospital a reality. This state‑of‑the‑art facility that is an investment in our future and will benefit generations to come. We have to remember that CGMH is a small-town hospital, affecting people in different times throughout their lives. Having the best hospital equipment not only helps our doctors and nurses deliver better quality of care but it also helps recruit the best healthcare professionals. We have an excellent healthcare team here because of the supportive community that funds state-of-the-art equipment to CGMH. That is why Karen and I felt it was important to donate on a monthly basis.

ReDevelopment & Future Planning

An Historic Campaign for South Georgian Bay.
2025 marked a pivotal year in the journey toward Tomorrow’s Hospital, one defined by extraordinary community support, tangible progress, and a shared commitment to both today’s care and tomorrow’s possibilities.
In April 2025, the CGMH Foundation officially kicked-off of the Campaign for Tomorrow’s Hospital, a bold, community-powered effort to raise $100+ million in support of a new, state-of-the-art hospital for South Georgian Bay. The response was immediate and inspiring. Thanks to the generosity of donors, partners, volunteers, and champions across our communities, the campaign exceeded $75 million by the end of the year. This remarkable momentum reflects not only confidence in the vision, but a deep support for the future of healthcare in our community.
Transforming Care Today
While our planning for the future accelerated, 2025 also delivered meaningful improvements for patients today. In October, the very first MRI machine opened at CGMH, made possible through the generous donations during the 2023 Tree of Life campaign. This equipment addition is already having a profound impact, reducing wait times, and eliminating the need for many patients to travel outside the community for faster diagnoses and treatment closer to home.
The MRI reflects the meaningful impact of previous community support, while the Foundation’s focus has now fully shifted to advancing Tomorrow’s Hospital.
Preparing for the future
Behind the scenes, significant progress was made to prepare for the largest infrastructure project in the hospital’s history. In 2025, a dedicated Hospital Development team was assembled to focus exclusively on advancing the planning, design, and readiness work required for the new hospital build. This team is laying the technical and operational groundwork that will support construction and long-term success.
Equally important was ensuring Tomorrow’s Hospital reflects the needs and values of the community it will serve. In the fall, community visioning sessions were held to gather insight, ideas, and feedback from residents, donors, health-care professionals, and community leaders. These sessions helped inform priorities around accessibility, patient experience, sustainability, and growth while ensuring the new hospital is not only modern, but deeply connected to the people it serves.
The annual Tree of Life Campaign continued to be a driving force in 2025, raising over $1.7 million towards Tomorrow’s Hospital.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As we look to 2026, the focus is clear: build on the momentum. The campaign for Tomorrow’s Hospital will continue to advance towards its $100+ million goal, while detailed planning for the new hospital intensifies.
In April of 2026, CGMH announced the pivotal milestone of the official transfer of a 54‑acre site at Poplar Sideroad and Raglan Street to be the future home of Tomorrow’s Hospital.
For a vision that began as an idea on paper, this moment marks a powerful turning point. The official transfer of the land transformed more than 10 years of planning, fundraising and community conversation into something tangile and undeniable. A hospital once imagined now has a place to grow, firmly grounding the vision in our community and signalling that tomorrow is no longer a distant concept.
